A Jedi Master from Episodes I and II, she is also present in the book Shatterpoint, a book mainly
about Mace Windu going into Haruun Kal after her. One of only two Jedi who ever fully mastered Form VII, she was
probably one of the best female lightsaber fighter ever in the Jedi Order, as befits a former Padawan of Mace Windu’s.
An authority on spiritual matters of the Force, she adopted the culture of the planet Chalacta to honor her murdered parents.
While she is on the Council during Episodes I and II, she goes on her final mission right after Episode II, and is not seen
again in the movies. In Shatterpoint, she leads a battalion of Republic troops to the planet Haruun Kal, and sets up
a guerrilla force with which she harasass the Separatist forces there. However, word comes to the Jedi that she renounced
her life as a Jedi after being involved in the guerrilla war there. Mace Windu goes in and finds her leading a bloody,
murderous war that show just how badly she has strayed from the Jedi path. He kills her formidable right-hand leader,
and brings Depa back to Coruscant, but she is unresponsive, even to the best Jedi healers. Perhaps it is better that
way, for she would stand trial for the awful killings that she ordered her guerrillas to do, in a category that had not been
used since the Sith Wars, crimes against civilization. It is assumed that she never recovers, and is killed when Darth
Vader invades the Jedi Temple.
