A Jedi Master from Episode I, he has held one of the permanent seats in the Jedi Council for many years.  His specialty, Jedi mind tricks, allow him to rarely use his lightsaber, relying instead on Force suggestions which bring conflicts to abrupt ends.  Right before Episode II, he tracks down a terrorist who intends to blow up Coruscant.  Along the way, he teams up with Jango Fett and Zam Wesell, who helped the terrorist obtain the weapon.  However, the device can only be deactivated by a Jedi Master, and while he is deactivating it, Master Poof is mortally wounded by the terrorist.
