Form VII (also called Juyo)
History
This form was "under construction" by different Jedi
for several thousands of years until perfected by a team of two Jedi in the twilight years of the Old Republic, Jedi Masters
Mace Windu and Sora Bulq. The most advanced form of all, it also proved to be the most difficult to control. Sadly,
through it Sora Bulq fell to the Dark Side of the Force. This form was completed through the application of Mace Windu's
personal, and yet "formalized", Vaapad fighting style. Since Vaapad and Form VII are so linked together,
Vaapad is not a separate form. The main techniques of this form are:
-
intense concentration
-
wanting so much to end this fight by beating or killing
the other person that it skirts dangerously close to the Dark Side
-
very unpredictable attacking and defending style
-
a very confusing style-to the opponent
-
Force-assisted swings and parrys
Practicioners of this form
Council Member Senior Jedi Master Mace Windu
Jedi Master Sora Bulq
Council Member Jedi Master Depa Billaba
The Bottom Line
Although not as fancy as Form IV, it gets the job done
like no other form. With the addition of Vaapad, it becomes a mindset as well as a good form. Equally
good against blasters and lightsabers, it is probably the best all-around form. The one word of caution: 2 out of 3
Masters who tried it fell to the Dark Side.
