A Jedi Master during the time of the Clone Wars, she appears in the book Yoda:  Dark Rendezvous as a teacher of Younglings in the Jedi Temple.  Teaching hyperspace navigation while her apprentice competed in the Jedi Apprentice Tournament, she was picked to be part of the ill-fated team of Jedi to talk to and possibly take Count Dooku into Republic custody.  As an undercover member of a “family”, everything went right until Asajj Ventress boarded their transport, bringing Trade Federation assassin droids with her.  While Yoda dealt with droids, holes in the transport, and Ventress’ spaceship, Master Maruk and Master Leem bravely battled half a dozen assassin droids.  While Master Maruk survived only to be killed by Asajj Ventress, Maks Leem was cut down by the droids, and survived only long enough to be stabbed in the stomach by the unmerciful Ventress.  She left behind her apprentice of several years, Whie.
